LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania's Justin Tereshko (Madison, Ind./H.S.) has been named to the PING All-American first team, becoming just the third Pioneer to achieve that honor, following an announcement Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Tereshko who was previously named to the All-Heartland Conference and All-Great Lakes Region team, was in 19th place in the NCAA Division III Championships at Greensboro, N.C., after two rounds of play.

Transy was in a three-way tie for 14th place and eventually lost a playoff for the 15th and final spot for the 36-hole cut. Tereshko then had to enter a playoff to win the chance to play in the final two rounds, but he was eliminated. He fired a 71 in the first round and a 74 in the second round for a two-day total of 145.

He also won the prestigious Gordin Classic at the Grandover Resort earlier this season, the same course that hosted the NCAA tourney. He was third in the HCAC in scoring this season with a 75.4 average.

Tereshko joins Hunter Frazier and Bradley Sutherland as PING All-American golfers. Frazier finished 10th in last year's NCAA Championship as a freshman.

A total 37 golfers were named to the first-, second-, and third-teams, including 10 as first-team All-Americans.
