Men's Golf Report (Week 5) - Hanover Finishes Second at Rose-Hulman Invite
GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College’s men’s golf squad finished second out of 10 schools at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational. The two-day event was held at Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
Sitting in fourth place after the opening round, Hanover posted a 320 in the second round to finish behind only Centre College in the team standings. The Panthers totaled 631 (311-320) in the tournament. Centre captured the team crown with 609 (304-305).
Freshman Patrick Geary (Clarksville, Ind./Providence) posted a 10th-place finish to lead Hanover's effort, carding rounds of 77 and 78.
College of Mount St. Joseph earned a fourth place finish at the event with a total of 634. The Lions received a second place finish from Kenny Brosnan (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle). The senior fired rounds of 73 and 78 to earn the top HCAC finish at the event.
Manchester College placed sixth in the team standings, while Defiance (7th), Anderson (8th), and host Rose-Hulman (9th) rounded out the conference finishers.
Franklin was also in action last week. The Grizzlies placed ninth overall at the 12-team Strimer Memorial Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan, firing a total of 650.
The men's golf squads will return to the course next weekend for the first and second rounds of the HCAC Tournament in Seymour, Indiana on April 28-29.
