GREENWOOD, IN - Mount St. Joseph's men's golf team led the six competing HCAC schools at the MSJ Spring Invitational with a second place finish this past weekend. The Lions finished 15 strokes behind champion Centre College in the team standings.
MSJ finished the 18-hole tournament, held at Aston Oaks Golf Course, with a score of 313. Matt Stiens (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) led the Lions with a fourth place finish, firing a four over par round of 76.
Franklin College finished nine strokes behind MSJ in the team standings and placed fourth overall. Sophomore Chris Arnold (Cloverdale, Ind./H.S.) finished sixth in the individual standings with a round of 77.
Hanover and Manchester carded an eighth place finish at the 13-team event with a total of 335.
Rose-Hulman (10th) and Defiance (13th) rounded out the HCAC finishers at the tournament.
No. 12 ranked Transylvania is the only HCAC school in action this week as the Pioneers compete at the Emory Invitational on April 1-2.
