GREENWOOD, IN - Hanover College led the HCAC field and earned the title at the Hanover Invitational over the weekend. The Panthers held off second place Northwestern Ohio by seven strokes to win the two-round event.
Hanover finished the event, held at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana, with a two-day score of 618. Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) led the way with a first place finish, carding rounds of 74 and 71.
Franklin College finished third in the standings with a team total of 629. Junior Mitch Oard (Bloomington, Ind./Edgewood) finished third in the standings with a total of 151 (79-72).
Rose-Hulman carded a fourth place finish at the 11-team event with a total of 633. Freshman Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) paced the Engineers with rounds of 75 and 74 to place second overall.
Manchester (6th), Mount St. Joseph (8th), Defiance (10th), and Anderson (11th) rounded out the HCAC finishers at the tournament.
This weekend, Rose-Hulman will welcome seven of the HCAC squads to Terre Haute for the Rose-Hulman Invitational Saturday and Sunday. Defiance will also be in action over the weekend, competing at Ohio Wesleyan.
