GREENWOOD, IN - Transylvania completed play
Tuesday in the Emory Spring Invitational with a sixth-place showing
at the Druid Hills Golf Club.
Oglethorpe captured the team title with a 36-hole total of 571, seven shots clear of first-round leader Methodist. Huntingdon was third with a total of 589, followed by Berry (595), Guilford (597), Transy (598), and Christopher Newport (604).
Individually, Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia finished first with a two-day total of 138 after a round of 67 on Tuesday.
For the Pioneers, Jantzen Latham (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg Co.) tied for sixth after a final round score of 71, finishing with a total of 144. Other Transy scores included Stephen Montgomery (Elizabethtown, Ky./John Hardin) at 151, Ben Fister (Lexington, Ky./Catholic) at 151, Hunter Frazier (Lexington, Ky./Christian) at 153, and Clay Hinton (Elizabethtown, Ky./H.S.) at 153.
This weekend features seven of the eight HCAC golf teams in action at the Hanover Invitational. Transylvania will return to the course on April 13 at Rose-Hulman.
