Transylvania's Clay Hinton Named PING First-Team All-American

DAYTONA BEACH, FL —Transylvania senior Clay Hinton (Elizabethtown, Ky./H.S.) earned PING First Team All-American honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today.

Hinton finished tied for 19th overall in the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship, helping his team tie for eighth place.

Hinton was named to the PING All-American Third Team the previous two years and was named to the GCAA ALL-Region Team earlier this week for the second-straight year.Hinton led the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring with a 73.1 average during his senior campaign and was a pivotal part of Transylvania's NCAA runner-up teams in 2012 and 2013.

Hinton helped keep the notable streak of eight consecutive HCAC titles, along with eight consecutive NCAA appearnances for Transylvania. The Elizabethtown, Ky. native has earned All-HCAC honors each of his four years as a Pioneer.
