NORMAN, OK — Four members of the Transylvania University men's golf team picked up Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Monday.

Hunter Cloud, Ben Fister, Nicholas McCarthy and Evan Shelley were selected for their academic and athletic efforts.

In order to be eligible for the status, individuals must be an academic junior or senior and compete in at least two full years of collegiate athletics, participate in 50-percent of team competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a scoring average under 79 strokes per round and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. In addition, each recipient must be of high moral character and be in good standing at their respective college or university.

The four are competing at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships this week at Grandover Resort located in Greensboro, N.C. as the Pioneers are looking for their fourth consecutive top-10 national finish.

Transylvania has dominated the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in recent years, taking the past nine HCAC titles.

This year's awards marks the ninth member of the Transylvania University men's golf team to be recognized in the past four years and the second time Fister has received the honor.
