GREENWOOD, IN - Mount St. Joseph University's men's golf team led the seven competing HCAC schools at the Hanover Invitational over the weekend. The Lions finished third in the team standings, finishing behind Northwestern Ohio and Davenport.
Mount St. Joseph finished the 36-hole tournament, held at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana, with a score of 621.
MSJ senior Eric Hensler (Fairfield, Ohio/H.S.) earned medalist honors, carding rounds of 69 and 71 to finish four under par and win the event by six strokes.
This was Hensler’s third individual title, breaking the MSJ all-time record.
Franklin (4th), Rose-Hulman (5th), Defiance (6th), Hanover (7th), Manchester (8th) and Anderson (10th) rounded out the HCAC field.
This weekend, all eight HCAC teams will compete at the Manchester Invitational Saturday and Sunday. Honeywell Golf Course will also serve as the host course for the final two rounds of the HCAC championship on April 30 and May 1.
