GREENSBORO, NC - A trio of HCAC men's golfers have been named to the All-Great Lakes Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The awards were announced following the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in Rochester, New York.
Selected to the All-Region team this year are Transylvania's Nicholas McCarthy and Jeff Meade and Mount St. Joseph's Eric Hensler.
The All-Region teams were announced following the first round of the national championship tournament.
There were a total of six All-Region teams selected. The Great Lakes Region had 16 members.
The 2016 NCAA Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Schorlars were also announced Tuesday evening. Transylvania's McCarthy was joined by Mount St. Joseph's Andrew Booth on the list.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
