GREENWOOD, Ind. - Franklin College's men's golf team led the four competing HCAC schools at the Hanover Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course with a first place finish this past weekend.
The Grizzlies defeated the field of seven with a 612 stroke total in the team standings. Freshman Colton Kuppler (Sullivan, Ind. / Sullivan) finished 1 over par (70, 75) to earn medalist honors at the invtiational
Hanover College finished in second place 14 strokes behind the Grizzlies at the Hanover Invitational. Freshman Bradley Murray (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel) finished 2nd in the individual standings with rounds of 75 and 74.
Defiance College carded a third place finish at the seven-team event with a total of 628, while Earlham College placed fifth (570) and rounded out the HCAC finishers at the tournament.
Mount St. Joseph University participated in the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Invitational and tied for sixth place in a field of 21 teams. The Lions finished with a a two-day stroke total of 609.
Manchester will host Anderson University at the Manchester Invitational. Earlham College will host Defiance and Franklin this weekend in Richmind, Ind. The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete against Oglethorpe on Friday.
