Phil Gilmore, Mount St. Joseph, Men's Golf
Mount St. Joseph’s Phil Gilmore (Wilmington, Ohio/H.S.) earned medalist honors at the Defiance College Invitational over the weekend and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week.
The freshman golfer fired rounds of 78 and 68 (146) to finish two strokes ahead of teammate Dean Kruschinski for top honors.
Gilmore’s second round score of 68 was the lowest of the two-round invitational and was also the only round under par.
As a team, the Lions placed first in the standings with a two-day total of 597.
