GREENWOOD, IN - The Rose-Hulman men's soccer program earned the outright HCAC Championship for the second straight time and secured the top seed for the conference tournament.  The top-seed Engineers will tangle with No. 4 Hanover in one semifinal, while the second seeded Pioneers of Transylvania will host No. 3 Anderson in the second semifinal.

Rose clinched the outright title with a 4-0 victory over Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon.  Senior Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) scored two of the team's four second half goals to secure the outright conference title. The Engineers finished the regular season with a 12-5-1 overall record and an 8-0 mark in conference play.

Rose-Hulman will face Hanover at 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon in the semifinals.  The Engineers pulled out a 2-0 win over the Panthers back on October 17.  Evans scored the game's first goal in the 58th minute to propel the Engineers to the win.  Hanover finished the season 6-10 overall and 5-3 in conference action.

Transylvania (12-3-1, 7-1 HCAC) and Anderson (8-10-1, 5-3 HCAC) will meet in Lexington in the second men's semifinal.  The Pioneers defeated the Ravens 1-0 back on October 10, receiving the game's only goal from junior Tony Spero (Lexington, Ky./Dunbar).  Transy has won nine straight matches since falling at Maryville (TN) on September 23.  Action between the Pioneers and Ravens in Lexington will get underway at 2:00 PM Tuesday.

The winner of the conference tournament will earn the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III tournament that is slated to begin on November 12.  The highest remaining seed after the two semi-finals will host the conference tournament final at 1:00 PM Saturday.
