Men's Soccer Report (Week 6) - Anderson Extends Unbeaten Streak to Nine Games

GREENWOOD, IN - Anderson University finished the week 2-0-1 overall and extended its unbeaten streak to nine straight games without a loss.  The Ravens (5-4-5, 2-0-2 HCAC) last defeat was a 1-0 decision to Chicago at home on September 15.

AU moved to 2-0-2 in league play, tying Franklin 1-1 and defeating Bluffton 2-0.  The Ravens sit atop the league standings with eight points, leading Transylvania, Rose-Hulman, and Franklin who are tied with seven points (2-0-1). 

Senior midfielder Paul Hill (Marengo, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) scored the only goal for Anderson in the 1-1 tie against Franklin and added his second goal of the week in a 3-0 non-conference win over Ohio Christian.

Junior forward Kingsley Kantande (Blantyre, Malawi/Black Forest Academy) also found the back of the net twice last week, scoring the second goal in each of AU's wins.

Earlham College posted a 2-0 mark in league play last week and now stands 2-1 in the standings.  The Quakers (5-7, 2-1 HCAC) were led by freshman forward Ameer Yusuf (Ramallah, Palestine/Friends) who found the back of the net twice in EC’s 4-1 win at Bluffton and added a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout win over Mount St. Joseph.

Transylvania and Rose-Hulman met in Lexington as the two HCAC favorites played to a 2-2 tie.  All four goals were scored in the first half of action with Transy knotting the score in the game's 41st minute.

In other conference action last week...Franklin moved to 2-0-1 in HCAC play with a 4-1 win at Defiance, while Manchester posted its first league win and snapped a five game losing skid with a 5-2 defeat of Hanover.
