Men's Soccer Report (Week 2) - Defiance Defense Leads Jackets to Efficient Start

GREENWOOD, IN -The Defiance College men's soccer team finished the week 1-1, improving to 2-1-1 overall this season.  The Jackets dropped a 1-0 decision to Olivet before handing Marietta a 2-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon.

The Jackets were shutout for the first time this season in a 1-0 loss to Olivet.  The Comets found the back of the net in the game's 74th minute to pull out the victory.

DC rebounded for an impressive 2-1 win over Marietta on Saturday.  Freshman forward Jaiden Henderson (Union, Ohio/Northmont) scored the game's first goal in the fifth minute, while Evan Allen (South Euclid, Ohio/Charles F. Brush) added another first half goal in the 32nd minute to stretch the lead to 2-0.

The Defiance defense has rose to the occasion so far this fall, allowing just one goal in each of their first four games.

Transylvania earned a split at the Centre Soccer Showcase last weekend.  The Pioneers fell from No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region to No. 9 after falling to Hiram 2-1.  Transy (3-1, 0-0 HCAC) rebounded to defeat Oberlin 3-0 on Saturday.
