Men's Soccer Report (Week 7) - RHIT Runs Win Streak to 5-Straight

GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman saw its win streak reach five-straight following a pair of league wins last week.  The Engineers (10-5, 4-1 HCAC) blanked Franklin and Manchester and now trail Transylvania by a single point in the league standings.

Rose-Hulman's Clint Vatterrodt (Bloomington, Ill./University) recorded his second career hat trick as the Engineers defeated Manchester 4-0 Saturday. The senior netted three goals against the Spartans and now leads the HCAC with 15 goals scored this season.

Rose will tangle with Anderson and Bluffton on the road this week.

Transylvania remained atop the standings with a 1-0-1 record last week.  The Pioneers (7-4-3, 4-0-1 HCAC) defeated Earlham 2-1 in overtime and tied Defiance 0-0 after two overtimes.

Senior Ethan Collins (Lawrenceburg, Ky./Anderson Co.) scored the game-winner against the Quakers, finding the back of the net in the 93rd minute.

Transy holds a one point lead over Rose in the standings and will face Hanover and Franklin this week.

Anderson, Mount St. Joseph, and Earlham continue to battle for a spot in the four-team HCAC tournament.  All three squads sit 3-2 in HCAC play with two weeks remaining on the schedule.
