GREENWOOD, IN - The HCAC men's soccer title match has been set after an exciting first day of action. No. 1 Transylvania and No. 3 Anderson advance to Saturday's title match in Lexington after posting victories today.
The first match of the day saw Anderson tangle with No. 2 seed Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute.
The Ravens received the game's only goal from junior midfielder Brad Rusche (New Palestine, Ind./H.S.) in the 10th minute of action. Rusche found the back of the net from 25 yards out to deliver AU to the HCAC finals.
Top seed Transylvania rolled to an impressive 3-0 victory over No. 4 seed Franklin. The Pioneers received goals from three different players in the triumph.
With the win, Transy has earned the right to host Anderson in the HCAC championship match at 1:00 PM Saturday at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky. The winner will receive the HCAC's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament.
