Men's Soccer Report (Week 6) - RHIT Improves to 3-0-0 in HCAC Action

GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman remained perfect in conference play, moving to 3-0 on the young league season.  The Engineers (7-4-2, 3-0 HCAC) slipped past Anderson 2-1 and blanked Defiance 2-0 on the road. 

Junior Drew Belk (Jasper, Ind./H.S.) scored the game winning goal in both of RHIT's HCAC wins.  Belk scored in the 83rd minute to beat the Ravens and netted the game's first goal against Defiance in the 35th minute of action.

Also sitting at 3-0 in HCAC play is preseason favorite Transylvania.  The Pioneers (9-1-1, 3-0 HCAC) have not lost a match since September 15 and finished the week 2-0 in HCAC play.

Transylvania's Christian King (Nicholasville, Ky./East Jessamine) led the Pioneers during the week.  The junior registered a hat trick in Transy's 4-1 win over Manchester, scoring the final three goals of the game.  King also had an assist in TU's 2-1 double overtime win over Hanover on Tuesday evening. 

Rose and Transy will meet in Lexington Saturday afternoon.

Franklin notched a pair of wins during the week and now stands 2-0-1 in conference action.  The Grizzlies (4-5-2, 2-0-1 HCAC) beat Manchester 3-1 and blanked Mount St. Joseph 5-0 to keep within striking distance of the conference leaders.

Conference action continues this week with matches slated on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
