Men's Soccer Report (Week 2) - Transy Posts Pair of Shutout Wins

GREENWOOD, IN - Transylvania University finished the week with a 2-0 record after a pair of shutout victories in Lexington. The Pioneers (3-1, 0-0 HCAC) blanked Covenant 2-0 and finished off Berea 4-0 to conclude the weekend.

Transy has won three straight since a season opening loss to Albion in overtime.

Senior forward Kyle Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) netted a goal in the win over Covenant and added a goal with an assist in the victory over Berea to lead the TU offense.

Transylvania will face Wilmington tonight and travel to Marietta on Saturday.

In other action...

Defiance College earned a split at the Mount Union tournament over the weekend.  The Jackets (3-1, 0-0 HCAC) fell to the Purple Raiders 2-0 on Saturday and bounced back with a 6-0 win over Keystone Sunday.

Anderson University had a busy week, claiming a 2-1 record during the span.  The Ravens (3-2, 0-0 HCAC) fell at Ohio Northern 4-0, but earned a pair of 3-0 shutout wins over Kentucky Christian and Principia at home over the weekend.
