Hanover Beats Rose-Hulman to Claim First HCAC Men's Soccer Title

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Hanover College defeated host Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon to pick up the school's first HCAC men's soccer tournament championship under head coach Sean Helliwell.  The No. 3 seed Panthers (16-4) earn the school's first trip to the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament with the 1-0 win.

Hanover senior Enrico Franchini scored the game-winning goal off of a penalty kick in the 37th minute of the contest.

Hanover goalkeeper Rafael Di Maio earned Tournament MVP honors after allowing only one goal in the tournament and a clean slate in the title match.

The Panthers will learn of its first opponent in the NCAA tournament on Monday at 1:30 p.m. The tournament's first/second rounds are scheduled for November 11-12.
