Tony Spero, Transylvania University, Men's Soccer
Transylvania University's Tony Spero (Lexington, Ky./Dunbar) had a pair of game-winning goals this past week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
The junior forward netted three goals overall for the week as the Pioneers defeated Mount St. Joseph and Anderson in conference play. Spero scored the first and third goals in a 3-0 win against Mount and posted the game's only score in the 74th minute in a 1-0 win at Anderson.
The junior is tied for the team lead with five goals this season.
Transylvania (8-3-1, 4-1 HCAC) has five straight shutout victories and will face Bluffton this week.
