Zach Lange, Transylvania University, Men's Soccer

Transylvania University’s Zach Lange (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) scored the game-winning goal in TU’s 1-0 overtime win over Anderson Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

The senior defender posted two strong defensive efforts as Transy earned a pair of shutout wins during the week, clinching the HCAC regular season title.

He scored the game-winning goal against Anderson on a free kick in overtime to claim a 1-0 defeat over the Ravens.

The Pioneers also knocked off Mount St. Joseph 2-0 earlier in the week and finished regular season play with a 14-2-2 record overall and an 8-0-1 mark in HCAC action.

Top seeded Transy will open the HCAC tournament at home against No. 4 Manchester Wednesday at 2:00 PM.
