INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the City of Terre Haute will host the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Feb. 14-16.
Swimming and diving became a fully-sponsored HCAC sport in the 2018-19 academic year. Hanover College joined the pack as the sixth conference member with men's and women's swimming and diving programs.
The conference has enjoyed a strong tradition of success before swimming and diving was adopted as a sponsored championship. HCAC teams have combined for nine conference championships in other leagues since 2014. Individuals from three different HCAC programs have also recently competed at the NCAA Division III National Championships.
At the beginning of the week, CollegeSwimming.com released the Top 50 Dual Meet Rankings. The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's men's swimming and diving team landed the No. 41 spot on the list, and the Franklin College's women's swimming and diving team came in at No. 26 heading into this weekend's championship event.
The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's swimming and diving team and the Franklin Grizzlies women's swimming and diving team will look to claim their second straight HCAC conference title after claiming the honors a year ago at the inaugural event.
Preliminary sessions begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Event finals on Thursday and Friday will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday features a conference-wide Senior Recognition Ceremony at 4 p.m., followed by the event finals at 5 p.m.
Admission is available for $10 per day or $25 for a three-day all-session wristband. There will be free admission for those with a valid HCAC institution ID. Daily tickets provide admittance to both morning and evening sessions.
