Men's Tennis Report (Week 7) - Transy Wins 56th Consecutive HCAC Match
GREENWOOD, IN- Last week saw only one HCAC match on the hard courts as Transylvania and Franklin met in Lexington. The Pioneers posted an 8-0 victory over Franklin, winning their 56th consecutive HCAC match in a streak that dates over eight seasons.
Transylvania (3-4, 2-0 HCAC) senior Dalton Main (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) won his matches at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles against the Grizzlies. Main was the only Transy player to post a singles win in a 7-2 loss to Centre, claiming a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
Will Palmer (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) earned wins at No. 1 singles and doubles in the conference win over Franklin. Palmer defeated Franklin's Matt Hamm (Batesville, Ind./H.S.) 6-1, 6-2 in singles and teamed with Kyle Clayton (Owensboro, Ky./Catholic) for an 8-5 win in doubles play. Palmer did not play in the match against Centre.
The Pioneers face a busy conference schedule this week as the Pioneers meet Hanover Wednesday night before a tri-match at Anderson with Defiance.
