Men's Tennis Report (Week 4) - Transy Drops Season Opener to Sewanee

GREENWOOD, IN- The eight-time defending HCAC champion Transylvania University men's tennis team kicked off the 2011 season Saturday.  The Pioneers (0-1, 0-0 HCAC) fell to No. 16 ranked Sewanee 5-4 in the season opening match for both teams.

Junior Keith Henderson (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) registered a pair of wins in the match, claiming a victory at No. 2 singles 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 and posting an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Transy will return to the court on March 18 at Mobile (AL).

In other action...Franklin (0-4, 0-1 HCAC) dropped an 8-1 decision at Brescia and Hanover (0-3, 0-1 HCAC) lost the first two games of its Florida trip, falling to Alma and Capital.

Hanover will continue its spring break trip in Orlando this week, while Defiance heads to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a few matches down south.
