Men's Tennis Report (Week 7) - Earlham Finishes Florida Trip with Two Wins

GREENWOOD, IN- Earlham College capped off a three-game trip down south with a pair of wins last week in Orlando.  The Quakers (5-2, 1-1 HCAC) finished the week 2-0 overall with wins over Principia and Knox.

EC handed Principia a 9-0 defeat on Tuesday and followed with an 8-1 win over Knox Wednesday afternoon. 

Sophomore Brad Maisey (Mount Maunganui, New Zealand/Tauranga Boys) and senior Mike Von Vogt (South Bristol, Me./Lincoln Academy) finished the contests unblemished.  Maisey posted a pair of wins at No. 3 singles and Von Vogt notched wins at No. 5 singles.  The duo teamed for two wins at No. 2 doubles during the week.

The Quakers return to action tomorrow afternoon at Capital before returning to HCAC play Saturday afternoon at Transylvania.

In other action, preseason favorite Transylvania (1-2, 0-0 HCAC) earned a split during the week down in Orange Beach, Alabama.  The Pioneers earned their first win of the spring season with a 7-2 win over Spring Hill and fell to Meridian Community College 8-1.

Junior Will Palmer (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) finished the week with a 3-1 record, posting a pair of victories at No. 1 doubles and earning a split at No. 1 singles.

In conference play, Rose-Hulman (5-4, 4-0 HCAC) moved to 4-0 in league action with a 7-2 win over Mount St. Joseph (1-2, 0-2 HCAC), while Hanover (4-3, 2-1 HCAC) defeated Defiance (1-8, 0-1 HCAC) 8-1 to move into second place.
