Men's Tennis Report (Week 8) - Quakers Run Win Streak to Four Straight
GREENWOOD, IN- The Earlham College men's tennis team continued its solid play with a victory last week. The Quakers (6-2, 1-1 HCAC) have reeled off four straight wins, including an 8-1 win over Capital in Dayton, Ohio.
Earlham's win over Capital was its fourth straight and has not suffered a defeat since a 6-3 decision at Wabash on February 16.
After leading 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles action, EC swept through singles play with six wins.
Henry Levin (Dallas, Tex./Highland Park) and Brad Maisey (Mount Maunganui, New Zealand/Tauranga Boys) remained perfect in singles play this season. Levin moved to 7-0 at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Maisey stands 8-0 overall at No. 2 and 3 singles after a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 3 position.
Earlham will return to the court this afternoon against Central State (Ohio) and will close the week's schedule Friday vs. Calvin.
In other action, Mount St. Joseph split their two matches of the week. The Lions (1-3, 0-2 HCAC) earned a 7-2 win over Thomas More and fell to Asbury 6-3 in Cincinnati during the week's play.
