Men's Tennis Report (Week 2) - Rose Narrowly Falls to Trine in Indianapolis
GREENWOOD, IN- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team dropped a highly contested match in Indianapolis, falling to Trine 5-4 at West Indy Racquet Club. The Engineers (0-2, 0-1 HCAC) fell to 0-2 on the young season.
Rose's Nathan Moore (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led the Engineers with a pair of victories against the Thunder Saturday. The sophomore earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles and moved to 2-0 in doubles action with an 8-5 win at the No. 3 position.
Junior Ben Paras (Tucson, Ariz./Nordhoff) earned a win at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph.
Earlham (3-1, 2-0 HCAC) dropped its first match of the season, falling to nationally ranked Denison 9-0 on the road.
In other action...Defiance (0-1, 0-0 HCAC) began the season with a 9-0 defeat to Baldwin-Wallace and Franklin (1-5, 0-1 HCAC) failed to pick up a win, falling to Trine 7-2.
Earlham will tangle with Otterbein in Dayton, Ohio in the only match of the week.
