Men's Tennis Report (Week 5) - Franklin Delivers 7-2 Defeat to Rose-Hulman
GREENWOOD, IN- The Franklin College men's tennis team earned a league win over Rose-Hulman in Indianapolis over the weekend. The Grizzlies (3-6, 2-1 HCAC) defeated Rose-Hulman 7-2 at the University of Indianapolis and have now won two consecutive HCAC matches.
Franklin junior Blake Wareham (Carmel, Ind./Newark, NY H.S.) defeated Ben Paras (Tucson, Ariz./Nordhoff) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at No. 1 singles and combined with teammate Ryan Hammer (Greenwood, Ind./H.S.) to top Paras and Devon Fritz (Lakeside, Cali./West Hills) 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
The blue and gold will return to the court on March 17 against Wittenberg at DePauw.
In other conference action...Hanover (3-3, 1-0 HCAC) opened the HCAC schedule with a 7-2 win over Manchester (1-4, 0-1 HCAC) Saturday.
Hanover's Steven Gilliam (Fishers, Ind./H.S.) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and added an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles to finish the week 2-0.
The Panthers will tangle with Cornerstone and Wabash Saturday.
