Men's Tennis Report (Week 9) - Rose-Hulman Ends Busy Week with 4-0 Record
GREENWOOD, IN- Rose-Hulman had a productive week, finding the win column four times in four tries. The Engineers (5-4, 3-2 HCAC) posted 8-1 wins over Indiana-East, Anderson, and Defiance, while slipping by Oakland City 5-4.
Rose-Hulman's Stephan Lemmer (Haymarket, Va./Stonewall Jackson) went 4-0 in singles and doubles action during the week for the Engineers.
The senior was the only Engineer to post a perfect mark in singles and doubles action.
Lemmer won all four of his matches at No. 5 singles and teamed with Ian Stevenson (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) for a 4-0 mark at No. 2 doubles.
RHIT will play host to Mount St. Joseph Wednesday afternoon before facing Greenville and Transylvania over the weekend.
In other conference action...Earlham (12-1, 5-0 HCAC) remained perfect in conference play, posting wins over Defiance (8-1) and Bluffton (9-0).
Scott Lawrence (Letchworth, England/Cheam) went 4-0 during the week for the Quakers, earning a win at No. 3 and 4 singles and a pair of victories at No. 2 doubles.
Transylvania (5-4, 3-0 HCAC) also stayed unblemished in HCAC action, beating Manchester 8-1 and Hanover 5-4. The Pioneers have won four straight matches since starting the season 1-4.
Franklin (5-7, 4-1 HCAC) remained a match out of first place after handing Mount St. Joseph (4-4, 1-3 HCAC) a 6-3 setback.
Anderson (1-4, 1-2 HCAC) earned its first win of the season, defeating Hanover (6-7, 2-3 HCAC) 6-3 Saturday.
