Men's Tennis Report (Week 10) - Transy Moves to 5-0 in HCAC Action

GREENWOOD, IN- Transylvania University remained unblemished in league play by posting three conference wins last week.  The Pioneers (7-4, 5-0 HCAC) slipped by Hanover and Franklin 5-4 and handed Rose-Hulman a 6-3 defeat on Sunday.  TU stands two games behind Earlham in the win column heading into the final two weeks of the season.

Transy's Keith Henderson (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) led the way for the Pios during the week.  The senior moved from No. 2 to No. 1 singles against Hanover and earned a 6-4, 6-4 win. 

Against Franklin and Rose-Hulman, Henderson earned wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles to finish the week with a 5-1 record.

Transylvania will look to keep pace with Earlham this week as the Pioneers battle Defiance in league play.

In other conference action...Earlham (15-1, 7-0 HCAC) remained perfect in conference play, posting 9-0 wins over Hanover and Manchester to clinch a spot in the upcoming HCAC tournament.

Earlham's Hank Levin (Dallas, Tex./Highland Park) went 6-0 in singles and doubles action during the week for the Quakers. The junior went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 in doubles action as EC earned 9-0 wins over Hanover, Indiana-East, and Manchester. 

Franklin (7-8, 5-2 HCAC) sits two games out of first place in the league standings and earned a win over Manchester 9-0 Sunday afternoon.

Defiance (6-13, 1-4 HCAC) earned its first win of the conference season, defeating Manchester 8-1 Saturday.

Senior Trevor Ault (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) went 6-0 in three matches during the week. In doing so, Ault reached the 100-win milestone for his career, becoming only the second Yellow Jacket to ever achieve this accomplishment.
