Tournament Program (click here)

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The 2012 men's tennis season will come to a close this weekend, as the HCAC championships will be held this Saturday and Sunday in Indianapolis.  The tournament will be held at the West Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis.

Earlham College will look to claim the school's second straight HCAC tournament championship and earn the conference's automatic qualifier for the NCAA tournament that begins May 11.

The Quakers (9-0 HCAC) won the regular season crown for the second consecutive year and have won 14-straight matches heading into the tourney.

Earlham has been led by junior Hank Levin (Dallas, Tex./Highland Park) at the No. 1 singles and doubles position this spring, posting an 15-1 overall conference record.  Freshman Anton Bartashevich (Moscow, Russia/International), sophomore Andrey Gavrilov (Yaroslavl, Russia/Universal), and junior Brad Maisey (Mount Maunganui, New Zealand /Tauranga Boys) have been solid all season long for the Quakers.  All three players did not lose a single match in singles or doubles action, finishing the HCAC schedule unbeaten.

Transylvania will look to reclaim the tournament title from Earlham this weekend.  Transy and Earlham met back on April 25, with the Quakers claiming a 9-0 win over the No. 2 Pioneers.  Transy has been led by seniors Will Palmer (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) and Keith Henderson (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) this spring.  Palmer posted a 5-2 conference mark at the No. 1 singles position and a 7-2 record at No. 1 doubles.  Henderson finished 8-1 at No. 1/2 singles and teamed with Palmer in doubles play.

Action will get underway Saturday morning at 9:00 AM with the championship match being held Sunday at 10:00 AM.
