INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology remains undefeated in conference action with just two HCAC matches left on the Fightin' Engineers schedule.
Rose-Hulman's Austin Perry finished a combined 6-0 at No. 3 singles and at No. 1/2 doubles to help Rose-Hulman finish a perfect 4-0 as a team last week. The junior earned singles wins against regionally ranked Ohio Wesleyan, in-state foe Wabash and Anderson.
Perry teamed with Ian Landwehr for No. 2 wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Wabash, and played with Josh Giambattista in a No. 1 win at Manchester. Rose-Hulman has won 44 straight matches against HCAC opposition.
Hanover's Landon Carrico helped guide the Panthers to a 3-0 mark in league play last week, going a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles play. The junior went 3-0 at No. 2 singles, winning 36 of 38 games played over six sets and added a 2-1 record at No. 2 doubles, earning 8-1 and 8-2 decisions against Defiance and Franklin respectively.
Transylvania freshman Arjun Gupta posted a 2-0 record as the Pioneers dropped a thrilling 5-4 decision to the Hanover Panthers last Wednesday. The freshman teamed with Hugo Kouhkna to capture an 8-4 victory at No. 1 Doubles before taking a 6-0, 6-4 win in the No. 1 singles match. Gupta has now won 14 straight doubles matches on the season.
