Alex Gumz, Rose-Hulman, Men's Tennis
Rose-Hulman’s Alex Gumz (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) helped the Engineers to a 1-1 record on the week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
The junior led the Engineers to a 7-2 victory over Greenville on Tuesday, posting victories at No. 5 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Gumz finished the week with a 1-1 singles and doubles mark after losses to NAIA St. Francis (Ill.) Sunday.
Rose-Hulman (9-8, 5-2 HCAC) will open the HCAC AQ Tournament on Saturday morning against Mount St. Joseph.
