Defiance's Zarembski and Higdon Named Track and Field ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, IN - Defiance College 's Brad Zarembski (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield ) and Samantha Higdon (Waldron, Ind. /H.S.) have all been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Track and Field First team. It is the second straight year the two have earned the recognition.

Zarembski is a Business Administration major, posting a 3.89 grade point average. He placed first at the HCAC meet in the high jump with a leap of 2.04 meters, earning a spot on the All-HCAC Track and Field team. The junior finished 11 th at the NCAA championships with a jump of 2.03 meters.

Higdon, a junior at Defiance , is majoring in Accounting and has a 3.96 GPA. She placed eighth in the women's shot put at the 2008 HCAC Championships.

The ESPN the Magazine All-Academic Teams are chosen by Sports Information Directors that are members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
