Men's Outdoor T&F Report (Week 2) - RHIT Wins Nine-Team Hanover Invitational

GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman's men's outdoor squad earned the title at the nine-team Hanover Invitational last Saturday.  The Engineers held off Division II member Bellarmine in the team standings by 15 points, totaling 183 on the afternoon.

Rose-Hulman's Sutton Coleman (Lebanon, Va./H.S.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships with a win in the 110-meter high hurdles.  The junior placed first in the event with a provisional time of 14.77 seconds.

The Engineers had four other individual event winners on the afternoon and capped off the meet with a victory in the 4x400 meter relay (3:22.05).

Franklin College placed fourth at Hanover, while Earlham (5th), Hanover (6th), and Manchester (7th) rounded out the standings.

Mount St. Joseph also won a meet over the weekend.  The Lions earned the title at the seven-team Mount St. Joseph Invitational Friday evening.  MSJ totaled 174 points at the meet, holding off second place Georgetown College (134.5 points).

Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Deer Park) led the way for the Lions, recording first place finishes in both the 200 and the 400 meter dashes.

Transylvania also competed at the meet, placing fifth overall.

In other action over the weekend, Anderson competed in St. Louis at the Washington-St. Louis Invitational, while Bluffton placed 12th at Cedarville.

This weekend all 10 HCAC schools will be in action once again.
