Sutton Coleman Becomes Rose-Hulman's First Seven-Time All-American

CLAREMONT, CA -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Sutton Coleman (Lebanon, Va./H.S.) became the first seven-time All-American in school history at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday.

Coleman earned his sixth and seventh career All-American awards with strong placements in the 110-high and 400-intermediate hurdles events at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. 

He placed third in the 110-high hurdles with a school record time of 14.30 seconds to open the day, then placed sixth in the 400-intermediate hurdles with a personal best time of 52.06 seconds that ranks second in school history.

Coleman completes his career as the most decorated All-American in Fightin' Engineer athletic history, breaking the mark of six awards set by women's high jumper Liz Evans (2010-present) and men's pole vaulter Andrew Schipper (2000-03).

Coleman's national finishes include second in the indoor 60-hurdles (2012), third in the outdoor 110-hurdles (2012), fourth in the outdoor 400-hurdles (2011), sixth in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles (2012), sixth in the indoor 55-meter hurdles (2011), eighth in the outdoor 110-hurdles (2011) and eighth in the outdoor 400-hurdles (2009).
