LA CROSSE, WI - Anderson University's Max Kittle (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) finished sixth the finals of the 110 hurdles at the NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday and was named an All-American.
He ran a 14.47 in the preliminary, which was a personal best time and eighth best at the national meet. His time in the final was 14.80.
The meet was held at Roger Harring Stadium in Veterans Memorial
Field Sports Complex at Wisconsin-LaCross University in LaCross,
"We are excited about Max competing at the Outdoor Nationals," said AU coach Scott Wilson. "He is one of our harder workers on the team and his dedication is paying off with this opportunity at the national meet."
Kittle is ranked 16th in the country in the 110 hurdles with his mark of 14.66 from May 10 at North Central, Ill. The top 20 hurdlers qualify for the national meet.
"He is coming off winning the conference titles in both the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles last month so being at nationals is the next step for him," said Wilson. "He won the conference indoor title in the 60 hurdles and then missed going to nationals by one spot."
