Men's Outdoor T&F Report - Week 5
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The men's track and field teams of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference participated in three separate meets last weekend.
All six of the HCAC institutions located in Indiana traveled to Greencastle, Ind. last weekend to participate in the Indiana Division III Championships hosted by DePauw University.
Rose-Hulman's Noah Thomas was named the Track Athlete of the Meet at the Indiana Division III Championships in Greencastle, Ind. last weekend after winning the 100 and 200 meter dash. The sophomore set a school record in the 100m dash with a time of 10.89 and ran the fourth fastest time (22.13) in RHIT history in the 200m. Thomas also set an Indiana D-III Championships meet record in the 200m while helping Rose-Hulman place second out of eight teams in the meet.
Fightin' Engineer Eric Fiacable was named the Field Athlete of the Meet at the Indiana Division III Championships after winning three throwing events last weekend in Greencastle, Ind. The senior captured first place honors in the shot put (15.32m), discus throw (45.60m) and hammer throw (56.43m). Fiacable was the only athlete to win three field events in the meet which helped Rose-Hulman place second out of eight teams at the meet.
Hanover's Reece Hunter scored in five events at the Indiana Division III Championships, including four on the track. The sophomore was a member of the school-record-breaking 4x100m relay team that clocked in at 42.95 seconds. Hunter also placed second in the 400m (49.93) and sixth in the 200m (22.50), while also being a member of the 4x400m relay team that placed second with the HCAC's fastest time of the spring, 3:24.50. The sophomore added a fifth-place showing in the long jump (6.17m) for the Panthers at the championships. 


Bluffton, Defiance and Mount St. Joseph traveled to Delaware, Ohio for the two day All-Ohio Championships last weekend. The Yellow Jackets led the way with a 15th place finish while the Beavers and Lions followed in 17th and in a tie for 18th place, respectively.

Defiance's Vince Jackson led the Yellow Jackets at the All-Ohio meet this past weekend finishing second overall in the high jump and claiming All-Ohio honors. The sophomore registered a jump of 1.94 meters which currently ranks at the top of the HCAC and 59th in the country.

Transylvania participated in the Centre Twilight Meet on Friday evening in Danville, Ky. last week and placed seventh out of the field of 10 teams.
