Hanover's Hedrick, Rose-Hulman's Fiacable & MSJ's Neal Headline Men's Outdoor T&F All-HCAC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Hanover College's Jacob Hedrick and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Eric Fiacable have been named the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Athletes of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year, respectively.  

Hedrick, a senior for the Panthers, claimed two event victories at the outdoor meet. The senior won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:10.16 and also took first place in the 10,000 meter run in a winning time of 31:52.15. 

Fiacable, a senior for the Engineers, claimed three top two finishes in the field events at the outdoor championship. Fiacable won the hammer throw with a winning mark of 56.91 meters, finished first in the shot put (15.24 meters) and garnered a second place finish in the discus throw (45.22 meters). 

Mount St. Joseph's Arvonte Neal was awarded the HCAC Freshman of the Year for his efforts at the championship meet. Neal placed in the top five in three events. The freshman earned first place in the long jump (6.89 meters), placed second in the 110 meter hurdles (1601), and was a member of the fifth place 400-meter relay team (44.64).

Rose-Hulman's Larry Cole was named the HCAC Coach of the Year after leading the Engineers to the school's 12th-straight HCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field team title. Cole, in his 16th season as Rose-Hulman's head coach, saw his squad garner 24. points to win the championship.
