Tom Postema, Defiance College, Men's Track & Field (Field)
Defiance College’s Tom Postema (Defiance, Ohio/Tinora) set a new school record in the shot put at the Northwest Ohio Invitational over the weekend and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
The junior broke the school record in the shot put with a toss of 49’ 5.5”, placing him first overall in the HCAC this season.
Postema also notched the second all-time mark at Defiance in the weight throw with a HCAC-best mark of 60’ 5”. The effort is currently the fifth longest mark in the nation for all of Division III this winter.
