Hanover sophomore Reece Hunter (Mooresville, Ind. / Monrovia) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Hunter was a member of the distance medley relay team this past weekend at the DePauw Invitational that took first place, broke a 25-year-old school record, leads the HCAC and ranks among the fastest times in the country.

The DMR that consisted of Jacob Hedrick, Hayden Veach and Cooper Hanson along with Hunter posted a time of 10:30.45, which is 40 seconds faster than the next best time in the HCAC, third in the Great Lakes Region and 14th in NCAA Division III.

The sophomore was also second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.41 seconds and added a second-place showing off the track in the high jump.

The Hanover Panthers will be back in action on Saturday at the HCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Defiance, Ohio.
