Men's Cross Country Report (Week 6) - Spartans Remain 4th in Great Lakes Region

GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester College turned in an impressive effort at the Gibson Family Cross Country Invitational in Terre Haute last weekend.  The Spartans finished second place, just four points behind champion Heidelberg in the team standings.

Senior Andy Williams (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) finished third out of 203 runners overall among the college division in Terre Haute, posting a time of 26:02 on the 8K course.  Teammate Braden Nelson (Angola, Ind./H.S.) finished sixth at the meet, posting a time of 26:25.

Rose-Hulman finished ninth among the 14 competing schools and was the only other HCAC squad in action last weekend.  The host Engineers were paced by Micah Aldrich (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central).  The sophomore finished the 8K course in a time of 26:43 to finish 16th at the meet.

Manchester is currently ranked No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region with one meet to go until the HCAC Cross Country Championships at Mount St. Joseph Oct. 31.  The Spartans will host the Manchester Invitational this Saturday with Anderson the only other conference school competing.

Bluffton, Franklin, Hanover, Mount St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman, and Transylvania will all run Friday afternoon at the Wilmington Fall Classic for their final tune up before the conference championships on the 31st. 

Defiance will head to the Oberlin Invitational Saturday morning.
