Men's Cross Country Report (Week 3) - Manchester Claims Indiana Little State Title

GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester College turned in a very impressive effort at the Indiana Intercollegiate, claiming first place in the 14-team Little State meet. The Spartans led the state's competition with 49 points, holding off second place DePauw. The black and gold now hold a No. 4 ranking in the Great Lakes region.
Manchester's Andy Williams (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) continued his great season, earning the top-spot with a time of 26:01. Braden Nelson (Angola, Ind./H.S.) and Kyle Pletcher (Walkerton, Ind./John Glenn) placed in the top five at the meet, posting times of 26:10 and 26:16 respectively.
Rose-Hulman placed fifth at the meet with 126 points. The Engineers were paced by Tyler Kreipke (Zionsville, Ind./H.S.) who finished three-tenths of a second behind champion Andy Williams with a time of 26:01.
Anderson placed seveth and was followed by Franklin (10th), and Hanover (14th).
Mount St. Joseph competed at the National Catholic Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. The Lions placed 30th among the 32 schools in South Bend. Jeff Schroer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) led the Mount with a time of 28:26.8.
Defiance and Bluffton each competed at the Cedarville Invitational on Saturday. The Jackets placed 11th, while the Beavers finished 15th out of the 16 competing institutions.
This weekend's schedule is a light one as only Bluffton, Defiance, and Rose-Hulman will compete. Bluffton will welcome Defiance for the Bluffton Invitational Friday evening, while Rose-Hulman will run at Otterbein Saturday morning.
