Men's Cross Country Report (Week 7) - Spartans Place 2nd at Manchester Invitational
GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester College ended the cross country schedule with a second place finish at the Manchester Invitational. The Spartans finished behind Cornerstone University in the eight team field.
Junior Braden Nelson (Angola, Ind./H.S.) led the black and gold with a third place overall finish, running the 8K course in 25:36. Freshman Curtis Kent (Angola, Ind./H.S.) finished right behind Nelson, placing fourth with a time of 26:00.
Franklin College ended the regular season with the conference's top finish at the Wilmington Fall Classic last weekend. The Grizzlies were among eight HCAC schools competing at the 28 team event and placed fourth overall.
Senior Kevin Martin (Mitchell, Ind./H.S.) led FC with a tenth place finish among the 329 runners, finishing with a time of 25:33.90.
Rose-Hulman finished fifth at Wilmington. The Engineers were paced by Tyler Kreipke (Zionsville, Ind./H.S.) who led all HCAC runners with a seventh place finish (25:24.97).
Anderson, Earlham, Hanover, Bluffton, Mount St. Joseph, and Transylvania also participated at Wilmington. The Ravens placed 11th overall, while Earlham and Hanover finished 16th and 17th respectively. Bluffton, Mount, and Transy did not post a team score at the meet.
Defiance College was also in action last weekend. The Yellow Jackets placed 26th overall at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.
All squads will be off this weekend in preparation for the HCAC Championships on October 30 at Transylvania University.
