Men's Cross Country Report (Week 4) - DC Posts a Perfect Score at Bluffton Dual Meet
GREENWOOD, IN- The Defiance men’s cross country team posted the lowest possible score at the Bluffton Dual Meet on Friday, accounting for each of the top-three times at the race for a team score of six. The Jackets also accounted for six of the top ten finishers at the meet.
Sophomore Hayden Krick (Antwerp, Ohio/H.S.) led the Yellow Jackets with a time of 17:14.56 on the 5k course to claim first place. The sophomore has placed first among the DC harriers in each of the three individual races so far this season.
Bluffton was paced by James Whitt (Lancaster, Ohio/Berne Union) who finished seventh overall with a time of 20:22.51.
Rose-Hulman was the only other HCAC school competing over the weekend. The Engineers placed seventh out of 17 schools in one of the Midwest's top small college meets at Otterbein.
Senior Tyler Kreipke (Zionsville, Ind./H.S.) led Rose-Hulman's performance with an 11th place finish in a time of 26:18.
This weekend all 10 HCAC teams will hit the course. Bluffton, Defiance, and Mount St. Joseph will run at the All-Ohio Championships Friday, while Anderson competes at Notre Dame. Earlham will host Rose-Hulman at the Earlham Invitational, Manchester will compete at Lansing, and Franklin, Hanover, and Transylvania will run at the Louisville Fall Classic on Saturday.
