GREENWOOD, IN- The Manchester University men's cross country team earned the team title at the Bluffton Invitational Saturday. The Manchester runners held off Defiance and Bluffton in the team standings.
The No. 34-ranked Spartans wound up with four of the top five individual finishes en route to a 22-point team total. Junior Chris LaFree (South Bend, Ind./Riley) set a course record, registering a time of 26:41. Fellow junior Curtis Nordmann (Bourbon, Ind./H.S.) was the next low finisher for Coach Brian Cashdollar’s squad, taking third in 26:46.
Defiance's Joe Davis (Mansfield, Ohio/Ontario) placed second at the meet with a time of 26:45.
Hanover hosted the Hanover Invitational Saturday morning. Franklin College earned the team title at the meet, holding off the host Panthers by 17 points. Mount St. Joseph placed third, while Transylvania finished fourth.
Franklin's Kris Sandlin (Scottsburg, Ind./H.S.) posted the top time at the meet, claiming the individual title with a 5K time of 16:22.
This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Indiana Intercollegiate meet in Terre Haute on Friday.
