GREENWOOD, IN- The Franklin College men's cross country team led the HCAC field at the Franklin Invitational on September 1. The Franklin runners placed fourth in the six team event, finishing behind Denison, Spalding, and Wilmington in the team standings.
Franklin's Kris Sandlin (Scottsburg, Ind./H.S.) led the Grizzlies with a time of 26:54.86 on the 8K course to earn a second place finish in the individual standings.
Hanover and Earlham also ran at the Franklin Invite Saturday morning, placing fifth and sixth among the six competing schools.
Mount St. Joseph hosted the MSJ Invitational on Friday evening. The Lions finished behind Xavier in the team standings, while Transylvania and Cincinnati Christian did not post a team score.
Anderson spent the weekend competing at the Wabash Hokum Karem. The Ravens finished seventh place out of seven teams with a score of 52.
Manchester welcomed Defiance and Indiana Tech for the Manchester Hokum Karem Saturday. The Spartans placed second at the meet, finishing four points behind Indiana Tech.
This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Bluffton and Hanover Invitational. Bluffton and Defiance will compete at Bluffton, while Hanover, Franklin, Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania will run in southern Indiana.
