Men's Cross Country Report - Earlham Places First at Wittenberg Invitational

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Earlham College placed first in the five team field at the Wittenberg Invitational last weekend. The Quakers finished 14 points ahead of second place Denison.

Earlham senior Gabriel Penk (Portland, Ore. / Wilson) led the Quakers with a second place finish. The senior finished the five-kilometer race with a time of 16:14.5, just two tenths of a second behind the winner.

The Hanover College men's cross country team participated in their home invitational and placed first. The Panthers were led by Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind. / Henryville). The junior placed first overall six seconds ahead of the field in the 6K event logging a time of 20:05.2 on the home course. Bluffton also hosted its home meet last week with Defiance also participating. Bluffton finished seventh out of nine teams, and the Yellow Jackets finished ninth.

Franklin and Mount St. Joseph competed in Shelbyville, Ind. at the Sodezo Grizzly Invitational last Saturday. The Grizzlies placed second in the meet, and the Mount St. Joseph Univiersity Lions finished fourth at the invite.

Manchester University hosted its annual home cross country meet, the Hokum Karem, on Friday last week. The Manchester men placed second in the event with the Anderson Ravens following in third place.
