INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Hanover College raced to first place after landing five in the top ten at its home invitational last Saturday.
Hanover senior Jacob Hedrick (Henryville, Ind.) led the Panthers with a first place finish. Hedrick logged a time of 20:39.9 in the 6.386-kilometer race, pacing an average mile of 5:13.3, nearly 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Transylvania also traveled to Hanover, Ind. for the event and placed third as a team.
Earlham College also claimed first place honors in a dual race with Wilmington (Ohio) last weekend. The Quakers were led by sophomore Bineyam Tumbo (Stone Mountain, Ga.) who crossed the finish line second with a time of 16:37.8.
Franklin and Mount St. Joseph competed in Shelbyville, Ind. at the Sodezo Grizzly Invitational last Saturday. The HCAC men's cross country teams placed 6th and 9th, respectively, at the course.
Manchester University hosted its annual home cross country meet, the Hokum Karem, on Friday last week. The Manchester men placed third in the event with the Defiance College Yellow Jackets following in fifth place. Bluffton hosted the Back to the Nature Preserve on Friday and finished in fifth place out of five teams.
