INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Earlham College participated in the Millikin H.W. Wright Classic in Decatur, Illinois last Friday. The Quakers claimed a third place finish while the Fightin' Engineers earned the team title out of 10 teams.
The Fightin' Engineers were led by Matthew Stevenot, the junior won the Millikin Invitational individual championship with a time of 25:48 to defeat a field of 110 runners.
The Earlham Quakers' Bineyam Tumbo finished the race with a time of 26:49 and a fifth place finish.
Half of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's cross country teams competed at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky last weekend.
Hanover College finished third out of 34 teams at the classic and the Panthers were led by Jacob Hedrick. The senior was the top HCAC and NCAA Division III finisher with an 8k time of 26:03.5 and a seventh place finish out of 276 runners at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Junior Daniel Baker led the Manchester men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the classic. Baker finished the race with a time of 26:28.5 for a 16th place finish.
Franklin College, Mount St. Joseph University, and Transylvania University also participated in Louisville on Saturday. The Grizzlies placed 13th, while the Pioneers and Lions finished 25th and 28th, respectively, at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Bluffton University and Defiance College traveled to Akron, Ohio to compete at the All-Ohio Championships. The Beavers placed 15th out of the field of 18, while the Yellow Jackets placed 18th.
